Update! Clarion Chukwurah Calls Out Ibinabo Fiberisima Again Insinuate Interest To Contest After She Steps Down

Exclusively, Nollywood actress, Clarion Chukwurah who utters a statement few weeks back criticizing the AGN (Actors Guild of Nigeria) president, Ibinabo Fiberisima's action has again lash-out at the AGN president and also unveil her mission to run for AGN president after Obinabo's tenure ends; in a recent interview she had with TheNetng.

"I would rather score her zero because I cannot see what it is she has achieved. I want to know what specifically she has done that has moved the actors forward in areas like their pay, health, and other vital concerns about their jobs. Nothing tangible has been achieved on the issue of their welfare or working condition. It is commendable that she secured n appointment to see the President on behalf of the guild but that opportunity was sacrificed on the alter of selfish interest and myopic objectives which has for a while now heightened the selfish interest and corruption practiced in the state chapter levels. The number of burial ceremonies organized during her tenure made me wonder what would have been the case if she had put in place a good health scheme with an insurance company which would have been subsidized for the actors".

clarion still went on to disclose her intention to run for AGN president and what she will likely do if voted into office.

"Yes I have seen that the fact that people like me are not doing anything to steer this group in the right direction is solely responsible for mediocre and selfish driven people being at the helm of affairs. I do know Ibinabo's tenure would end in September. I intend to run for President of AGN because it is time that veterans and hardcore professionals learned in every aspect of the business should put the experience and information to use to move the AGN forward. The first thing I intend doing is to bring together experienced actors who are trained lawyers like Tunji Bamishigbin, Wale Adebayo, Richard Mofe Damijo, Funke Akindele and a couple of others, to sit down and look at the issue of legislation, put together a bill to the National Assembly and drive it at the level of the Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Veteran Actor, Jibola Dabo Denies Quitting Acting, Says Am Only Taking A break.

Popularly known Nollywood actor, Jibola Dabo has been the latest actor to indulge into politics; and denies quitting acting. Jibola, who is currently strategising on how to grab the ticket to represent his people of Owo Federal Constituency, Ondo State at the House of Reps hasn't retired from the Nollywood industry; but just taking a break. According to Dabo, politics has never been his intention nor a decision, but a call from people who needed him more to represent them. He told Vanguard.

“ I can still do one or two movies, because nothing in the constitution says I can’t do movies, but I know there won’t be time to do much movies. I’m not quitting, I’m just taking a break to give back to the people, because I’ve realized that the industry has taken me to a particular peak. Giving back is not going to be easy from that industry, but if I’m part of a voice, I can better develop the industry and give back to the community.
So, I’m not really quitting, I’m only taking a break” he confided in me. He also told me he doesn’t have to be a career politician to know what his people need. His focus, if elected, “ Would be rural development. I’m quite experienced in the cultural activities in my constituency and I know how we can use the basic things we have in the land to enrich the youths in particular.  I’m going to concentrate on putting my constituency in the international brochure on tourism because we are very rich culturally and also use arts and crafts to create jobs for the youths which is part of the youth empowerment project I have been talking about with the current government. These are self created wealth that can happen from the land, because most of these youths have left the land seeking greener pastures where there are none. I believe that I can help redirect heir attention to the land”.

Singer Banky- W Shares His Thought On Arik-Air Flight Ignominious Failure

The singer Banky-W was one of the passengers on Arik-Air plane in Lagos; Banky who was in Lagos on March 31st to a flight to New York witness the ignominious failure that occur while the whole passengers where on their seats; and shares his thought base-on the defect of Arik-Air Aircraft. His words:

Recently, footage from a camera phone has surfaced online about the dire circumstances that passengers suffered prior to take-off, on board an Arik Air flight from Lagos to New York; I was one of the passengers. For anyone who has not seen the footage, it’s available on Youtube and various News Websites and Blogs. However, for purposes of this write-up, I will recount what happened.

The flight was scheduled to take off at about 1150pm on March 31st, 2014. Boarding was completed on time, and all the passengers settled in their seats and prepared for the flight to begin. However, there seemed to be a delay in operations because although the ground crew had exited the aircraft and the cabin doors were shut, we weren’t moving. The pilot announced that there was a small delay in the ground crew operations on the plane, and that we should be patient as the flight would depart “in a few minutes”.

The problem was, the air conditioning was not turned on. Midnight soon passed, and there was still no A/C, neither did it feel like we were going anywhere, anytime soon. Passengers were vigorously fanning themselves, asking for water and ice from the Crew, and doing whatever they could to stay cool and hydrated. The reality was that the heat in the plane was quite frankly unbearable.  It’s hot enough in Nigeria these days, and then you couple that with a cabin whose doors have been shut, and a bunch of people locked inside that enclosed space… suffice it to say it escalated from bad to worse very quickly.  The Captain made another announcement about how he’s “sorry for the delay, but it was due to the ground operations”, and that there was only one engine on and that was why the A/C could not be turned on yet. By now it was well past 12:30 and people were becoming extremely frustrated. Parents had begun taking the clothes off their children, children were crying, one lady looked like she would faint. Still, there was no further update on when we would take off and when the A/C would come on.

As a stylist, how would you describe your relationship with Hollywood celebrities?
My relationship with my clients is cordial. Most recently, I had the opportunity to work with Malik Yoba, who is the lead actor of the Tyler Perry Movie Titled ‘Why Did I get Married’ and The legendary Tommy Lister. However, I see all my clients as celebrities; because I celebrate all of them.  I hope to work with many more entertainers - people like Oprah Winfrey, and Tyler Perry. When it comes to fashion, the list is also endless. I must add that I am also investing in working with people who are not celebrities but who have great sense of vision and passion for success. Here at home, I commend Mo Abudu on the tremendous work she has done thus far with Ebony Life TV. I am a firm believer in women supporting other women. Although my first degree is in a science discipline, I always had passion for arts and entertainment industry. It has always been at the back of my mind to return full time into the industry.

What’s your television show called Kairos Moments all about?
Kairos is a Greek word that defines the realization of a dream. Therefore, this show will inspire the audience to recognize their opportunity and bring their dreams to fruition. Listening to successful people, professionals, artisans and all who have succeeded in what they do will give the same opportunity to other listeners who will pick up one or two things from interviews aired. Most opportunities are missed because, people are either unable to recognize their ‘Kairos Moments’ or they are too discouraged to rise up and forge ahead. The joy of learning about a breakthrough in one’s life while being entertained is a priceless feeling that we intend to pass across through the show.

“He (Sanusi) claimed that President Jonathan does not have the right to remove him; from which book did he read that? He who hires has the right to fire.

A Poor Man Shouldn't Even Think Of Admiring My Picture -Lizzy Gold

Fast rising Nollywood actress, Lizzy Gold who was in a chart with E.E, Entertainment Express say's her basic criteria for any man wooing at her must not be poor but rich in mature; because she'd loves money so much. And a poor man shouldn't even think of admiring her picture or attempting to Toast her; and she also said, bank alerts is her best friend. The chart begins:

What propelled you into joining Nollywood?

Actually, I’m just passionate about Nollywood, it’s not like anything pushed me. I love acting a lot, when I was very young, I used to act with pillows, chairs, with virtually everything in the house. I would get a cane and start flogging the chairs and mime like the chairs were crying.

How have the challenges been like?

It’s been very challenging, especially, when it comes to getting into characters. You have to assume you are the character in the script; you have to put yourself into it. If it’s a romantic role, you put yourself in the character with no strings attached.

What was the reaction of your boyfriend when you decided to go into Nollywood?

Initially, he was very sceptical about it. He said girls in Nollywood don’t stay in marriages. To me, it depends on individuals; I don’t think it’s true, because so far, some people like Omotola have kept their marriages. But he saw that I was very passionate about it when I went as far as attending an acting school in Lagos. I told him, it’s either he allowed me do my acting or he let me be. So he allowed me do my acting.

Tchidi has a burning desire to make a change in Nollywood, to shoot movies which somehow should re-calibrate society's moral journey. I particularly love some of his movies for the uncanny way he brings out everyday characters in simple lifestyles and turn them to complex evolutionary beings in complex situations. As a movie director and a scriptwriter, Tchidi is gifted. Very gifted. Take it from me.
